On 25.04.18 BLBA invited Shri Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, as a keynote speaker and chief guest for its flagship event at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi.

This Interactive Session was organized by BLBA (Belgium Luxembourg Business Association) in association with IDCBS (Indo Dutch Chamber of Business and Sciences) and IFCCI (Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry New Delhi).

More than 100 delegates attended the session (representatives of various Chambers of Commerce, top CEO’s and industry leaders) as well as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium (H.E. Mr. Jan Luykx), the Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands (H.E. Mr. Alphonsus Stoelinga) and the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (H.E . Mr. Sam Schreiner).

With the title of the Interactive Session “Opportunities in Indian infrastructure for European companies” in mind, the Honourable Minister covered many topics as:

  • Overview of the number of roads and highways built and major projects in the pipeline;
  • Investment opportunities for European companies in Indian highway building, making waterways more accessible and cleaning of the Ganga;
  • How to ensure greater participation of European companies in the infrastructural growth of India?
  • (FDI) rules for foreign companies to participate in the above mentioned activities.

 

After his 30 minutes talk the Minister answered questions asked by the audience during the Q&A session moderated by Mr. Rajiv Dhawan, president BLBA.
